Heber City, Utah, lies in the Wasatch Back, a region on the eastern side of the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains. It is located 69km southeast of Salt Lake City, but the mountain town and surrounding region displays fall color on its own timeline. The county was named for a Ute word meaning “mountain pass” or “low place in the high mountains”.

The local scenery on the ground is as follows.
