Astronaut on board ISS captured Namibia’s Brandberg Mountain (“Omukuruvaro” in local Otjiherero language). The mountain consists of granite.

As can be recognized from the satellite image, Brandberg Mountain with 650km2 area stands in a vast flatland of Namib Desert, and is readily recognizable even from the far locations. The mountain is a spiritual site of great significance to the San (Bushman) tribes and has a rock painting from the ancient times.
