ESA(European Space Agency)’s Earth observation satellite Sentinel-2A captured Tongatapu, the largest island of Tonga. The beauty of the sea is obvious from space. Tonga is a Polynesian archipelago nation comprising 169 islands with 100,000 population, capital of Nukualofa, and is a member of the Commonwealth.

Built on limestone, Tongatapu Island has fertile soil of volcanic ash which produces crops such as sweet potato, cassava and others. Northern Fangauta Lagoon’s mangroves provide an important breeding ground for fish and birds.
